Aimie Farmer is a senior associate in our Environment and Health & Safety team at CMS. Aimie has provided advice and representation to a broad spectrum of clients across the sectors including energy and waste, food, consumer goods, hotels and leisure, residential care homes and industry.

Aimie’s expertise includes defending prosecutions by a range of regulatory bodies including local authorities, the HSE and the Environment Agency, assisting clients at inquests and representing defendants at interviews under caution.

Aimie is on both the charity committee and the CMS Women’s Network committee in the Manchester and Sheffield offices.

  • Making successful representations to the police leading to criminal proceedings being discontinued.
  • A multinational energy from waste company in respect of a prohibition notice and subsequent appeal to ensure the continuation of the project.
  • A waste company at an inquest following the death of a homeless person in a waste bin.
  • One of the largest waste companies following a prosecution by the Environment Agency for a breach of the Transfrontier Shipment of Waste Regulations.
  • A multi-billion pound asset management company in respect of environmental breaches committed by a tenant.
  • A director of a company following a Health and Safety Executive investigation into breaches of the Dangerous Substances and Explosive Atmosphere Regulations.
  • A shopping centre following a Health and Safety Executive investigation and request for written submissions into breaches of the Working at Height Regulations.
  • Numerous consumer goods companies regarding product safety compliance in both England and Wales, the EU and with the assistance of those in our international CMS offices, globally.
