Alan Fulton is a partner in our Finance team, having been with the firm since qualification. He acts for lenders, sponsors and borrowers, and is recommended for his encyclopaedic knowledge of the banking sector. He draws unanimous praise from clients and peers for his “exceptional dedication and diligence…it’s a very efficient process working with him.”

He has substantial expertise in acting for both lender and borrower in acquisition finance, property and development financings and general banking transactions, across a wide range of industry sectors, on both domestic and international transactions.

Relevant experience

  • Lloyds Banking Group plc as agent and arranger, and for lenders in respect of syndicated debt facilities of £GBP 135m on pan-European owner and supplier of telecommunications masts.
  • Royal Bank of Scotland plc in £GBP 80m senior secured facilities to major UK real estate investment company, and in respect of multiple acquisitions made by them.
  • Agent, arranger and lenders in provision of more than £250m of (i) acquisition finance on the MBO of UK chain of petrol stations and (ii) two portfolio acquisitions of over 400 properties made by the Borrower.
  • A borrower in circa £GBP 350m refinancing of a household name “trophy” London hotel, and associated inter-group financing.
  • A mid-market UK Private Equity house on the $USD 20m financing of Newco, following Newco’s acquisition of entire issued share capital of market leading global technology company, providing video cameras for oil and gas well exploration.
  • A major UK house builder on their £GBP 150m financing, in conjunction with the purchase of their entire issued share capital by major private equity house.
  • Santander in senior debt funding to UK real estate joint venture and subsequent acquisitions – facilities of £GBP 25m.
