Food al­ler­gen la­belling – a cata­lyst for change
On 28 Septem­ber 2018 a West Lon­don Cor­on­er con­cluded that Nata­sha Ed­nan- Laperouse died of Ana­phyl­ax­is after eat­ing a baguette con­tain­ing ses­ame to which she was al­ler­gic. In his con­clu­sion Dr Sean Cum­mings said he would write to the Gov­ern­ment to raise con­cerns.

Re­du­cing cli­mate change emis­sions: in­equity across the sec­tors
In June 2018, the Com­mit­tee on Cli­mate Change (“CCC”) provided its 2018 pro­gress re­port to the UK par­lia­ment on the UK’s cur­rent and pro­jec­ted re­duc­tions in (do­mest­ic) green­house gases (here). As a whole, the UK gets a pat on the back for the con­tin­ued re­duc­tion.

The Gov­ern­ment has an­nounced the cre­ation of a new Of­fice for Product Safety and Stand­ards, fol­low­ing a re­com­mend­a­tion made by the Work­ing Group on Product Re­calls and Safety, a group of product and fire safety spe­cial­ists that was es­tab­lished in Oc­to­ber 2016.
