Joanna trained at CMS and is now a Senior Associate in the Infrastructure and Projects Team.  She has particular experience in the healthcare, education and transport sectors having advised project sponsors and lenders on infrastructure projects in the UK and abroad.  Other recent experience includes renewable energy infrastructure, battery storage, offshore wind and district heating.

  • Johnson & Johnson in relation to its innovative 15-year partnership with Guy’s Hospital in London to deliver a managed orthopaedic service as well as to design, build, finance and operate new orthopaedic theatre suites.
  • A funder on its portfolio of hospital projects following the liquidation of Carillion.
  • The project companies on three separate schools batches procured under the Government’s Priority Schools Building Programme.
  • A local education partnership (LEP) on their portfolio of schools including the design and build contracts with the procuring authority, subcontracts and suite of ancillary documents.
  • EBRD and the Contracting Authority in relation to the reconstruction of the M10 in Belarus.
  • Merseylink Civil Contractors Joint Venture in relation to the Mersey Gateway Bridge DBFO project.
  • Tramlink Nottingham Limited on the construction of two additional tram lines for the Nottingham Tram (NET Phase 2) project and on various ad hoc contractual issues.
  • Low Carbon on its portfolio of solar projects and entry into the battery storage market.
  • Various owners/operators on their renewable asset portfolios, providing full support through the tender stage and subsequent negotiations with contractors, equipment suppliers and long term service contractors.
  • Large renewables developer on a turbine supply agreement for a portfolio of offshore wind projects. Joanna delivered training to the client on contracting strategy and risk allocation.
