Scarlett West is a partner in the London Insurance & Reinsurance Group. Scarlett’s coverage and contentious experience spans a broad range of business lines. 

Scarlett's primary focus is defence work on behalf of construction professionals and solicitors, and their insurers.  Scarlett's recent defence work has included UK fire safety and cladding claims, design and/or project management claims relating to international transport and infrastructure projects and multi-use developments in the UK, and the defence of top-20 UK law firms in High Court and Court of Appeal proceedings.

Scarlett is often involved in high value, high profile disputes, frequently underpinned by technical evidence and complex multinational contractual arrangements.  

Scarlett is a regular speaker at workshops, seminars and the annual CMS Professional Indemnity Conference, and is a contributing editor of the widely cited text, Insurance Broking Practice and the Law.  Scarlett completed a secondment to a large Lloyd’s syndicate in 2014 as underwriting and claims legal counsel.
