On 1 January 2015, the Regulation on Amendment of the Pension Insurance Act came into force, by which regulation, among others, the deadlines for delivery of data to the Croatian Institute for Pension Insurance have been amended.

Consequently, the following deadlines for delivery of data apply as of 1 January 2015:

  • § 24 hours as of starting or closing of business / at the latest on the day when the decision on registration or de-registration of business from the relevant registry has become legally valid and binding – for delivery of data on starting or closing of business by the contributions payer (i.e. employer);
  • § 24 hours as of the incurred change in relation to business operations of the contributions payer (i.e. employer) – for delivery of data on the corresponding change;
  • § 8 days before starting work and the latest before actual beginning of work – for delivery of data on the beginning of the insurance (i.e. on the newly employed employee);
  • § 24 hours as of the end of work / end of the employment – for delivery of data on the end of the insurance (i.e. on the end of employee’s work / employment);
  • § 24 hours as of the incurred change – for delivery of data on the change incurred during the insurance (i.e. during employment).

In addition, it is prescribed that, if an employee does not start to work on the day of the commencement of the insurance, an employer is obliged to notify the Institute at the latest on that day.

Also, the deadlines for delivery of data on individual contributions payers (e.g. self-employed employees), as well as on disabled employees are prescribed. Additionally, the foreseen fines for corresponding misdemeanours are significantly increased.
