Currently entrepreneurs may apply for the non-refundable grants from EU-Funds within open tenders in various sectors and for various purposes. Significant number of tenders relate to energy sector and generally to research and development.
As one of the most interesting tenders, we outline the programme intended to promote the “Competitiveness of Enterprises and SMEs”, with the budget of HRK 256 mil.
The non-refundable grant for eligible cost may range between HRK 3.8 mil HRK 26. mil. The amount of co-funding is set between 50% and 80% of the eligible costs. All interested entrepreneurs may file their project applications with the Ministry of Entrepreneurship and Crafts until 21 February 2014. Similar tender should be published by the Ministry again in the 3rd quarter of 2014.
This tender, intended for small and medium entrepreneurs, includes two groups of grants:
- Group 1. Improvement of competitiveness of small and medium entrepreneurship
- Group 2. Improvement of competitiveness in tourism
Group 1 projects represent investments in tangible and intangible assets intended for one or more of the following activities:
- Expansion of the existing company or establishment of a new one, diversification of production into new products or radical change in total production process of the existing company;
- Achieving greater level of environmental protection, investment in tangible and intangible assets related to energy saving measures;
- Purchase of new technology and equipment, new procedures and methods of processing leading to improvement of production and/or products of higher quality and/or higher productivity;
- Provision of project related services by outsourced consultants and staff training.
Group 2 projects represent investments in tangible and intangible assets, intended for the following activities:
- Modernisation or construction of new hotels, improving the categorisation of existing hotels and/or extension of existing hotels with 3 or more stars (or those resulting in such categorisation), as well as related auxiliary facilities intended to increase hotel occupancy and its competitiveness;
- Achieving higher level of environmental protection by improving or preventing damages of facilities and/or natural resources due to own activity;
- Provision of project related services by outsourced consultants and staff training.
