Gábor Czike is a partner based in Budapest and Head of its Real Estate and Construction Group. He also coordinates the Hotels & Leisure Team at CMS Hungary.

He has more than 20 years’ experience in advising many of the major market players on a full range of legal issues affecting the real estate and the hotels & leisure sectors. Gábor advises on every aspect of the hotel industry, including hotel acquisitions, hotel and resort construction and development projects, management agreements and leases, financing and structuring, tax-related matters and operational issues, often with a cross-border element.

Due to his active involvement on the property market RICS, the world's leading professional body for qualifications and standards in land, property and construction, invited him to become a member as the first ever Hungarian lawyer.

As a recognised lawyer and expert in the real estate and hotels & leisure sectors, Gábor speaks regularly at national and international conferences and seminars.

He also has extensive experience in all property related legal issues including stamp duty, environmental protection, planning and construction matters as well as issues affecting the hotel & leisure sector.

  • Bluehouse on the acquisition and financing and later on the sale of the Infopark E office building as well as a major retail scheme leased to Tesco. Also advised on the day-to-day legal matters of their Hungarian office.
  • Apollo Tyres on the construction of a green field manufacturing plant in Hungary.
  • Central European University on renovating and extending its campus buildings. Assisted the client in connection with the tender procedure and the drafting of the sample general contractor agreement.
  • Invesco on the sale of a logistic centre, currently used by Auchan.
  • Futureal, a major Hungarian developer on the lease agreement for approx. 40,000 sqm of office space for Nokia, which was one of the largest new lease agreements in the Hungarian market for 2015 and on the acquisition and leasing of an office building, at the office corridor of Budapest, for KPMG.
  • A Hungarian developer on the leasing of a hotel to be developed in the centre of Budapest, Hungary.
  • GTC on several complex transactions, including the acquisition of several development sites in the XIII. district of Budapest, the development and letting out of CenterPoint I. and II. office buildings, the development of the Riverside and Riverloft apartments, two of the most prominent residential developments in Budapest, the purchase of a 14.000 sqm (+8000sqm optional) development site in the XI district of Budapest and the sale of the Riverloft Office Building.
  • Several tenants on complex lease agreements for various tenants such as Roche, British Telecom, Baxter, Mastercard, Travelport etc.
