Péter is a senior associate in the Energy, Projects & Construction team at CMS Budapest with specific focus on the energy sector. 

Péter joined the CMS Budapest office in 2011 after graduating from the University of Szeged. 

He has conducted several due diligence exercises and has relevant experience in the energy sector. 

Furthermore, Péter has experience in reviewing and drafting general commercial agreements, as well as in preparing various memoranda relating to regulatory issues. He also gained experience in various public procurement projects and represented cases before the Public Procurement Arbitration Board and court.  

Peter has been seconded to various international companies, where he provided day-to-day legal advice in all projects of the companies and worked closely with local businesses and the companies headquarter’s legal departments.

Relevant experience

  • French and Romanian branches of Engie on the acquisition of a limited natural gas trading, as well as providing advice to Engie in general in relation its gas trading activities in Hungary.
  • Budapest Power Plant on all its day-to-day issues, including developing EPC contract templates and providing legal advice on various large-scale EPC and refurbishment contracts. We also support the company via on site secondment for almost a year now, providing support on all legal issues that may arise during the operations.
  • A renewables and environment company on the planned acquisition of multiple SPVs and PV projects in several locations in Hungary, which deal is one of the biggest photovoltaic acquisitions on the Hungarian market.
  • A major Hungarian commercial bank on the energy aspect of several financing energy projects, such as the financing of the solar power plant projects of a Slovak and Czech investor, the financing of OMNI Energy, a developer of distributed renewable energy and sustainability projects and on a photovoltaic project financing in Hungary. 
  • Group of lenders (lead by Citibank) on the financing of the acquisition of the TIGÁZ entities in Hungary acquired by MET from the ENI Group.
  • An energy company on the planned acquisition of ownership interest in a concession company entitled to explore liquid gas fields in Hungary.
  • A Slovenian energy company in the course of a public procurement procedure in the subject matter of “Building a geothermal heat supply system in Komárom” in relation to its planned entry to the Hungarian mining market.
  • Linde Gas - representing the client before the Public Procurement Arbitration Board in relation to its exclusion from a public procurement procedure for providing abnormally low prices.
