Azur award 2015: CMS remains best employer for young lawyers

27/02/2015

Hamburg – CMS Hasche Sigle has again taken first place in the azur100 list compiled by legal publisher JUVE. This is the third time the law firm has received the top award, having previously won it in 2012 and 2014. The azur editorial board created the ranking from the results of a large-scale survey of job applicants and associates, combined with facts about new appointments and salaries.

"There is intense competition for well qualified and highly motivated junior lawyers. We are therefore delighted that our career opportunities and programmes have been so well received by young lawyers and that we have been able to stand out among so many law firms, commercial enterprises and public institutions," said managing partner Dr Hubertus Kolster. "An innovative career model and training programme, plus an attractive environment that allows junior staff to take on responsibility at an early stage, have all played a major role, but this success is also due to our excellent reputation with clients and to the interesting and challenging instructions we work on."

In its citation, the jury emphasised that for many applicants CMS is the employer of choice. The jury added that the firm's own lawyers gave it above-average scores for working environment, teamwork and workload. Associates also praised the high level of involvement in client work and the extensive training opportunities. The jury commented that CMS had taken on a large number of new hires in the past year. In 2014, the firm employed a total of 551 full-time fee earners (full-time equivalents).
