Antitrust, Competition & Trade

The CMS Antitrust, Competition and Trade (ACT) group in Peru is part of the fully integrated CMS global team, one of the largest specialist competition and trade teams in the world. More than 225 CMS experts advise clients in more than 40 countries worldwide on all ACT matters. Our Peruvian team is one of the biggest on the national market, spread out across our offices in Lima.

Due to our size and very wide footprint, we are able to deal with all competition matters irrespective of their geographic dimension. Where necessary we cooperate with long established contacts from our wider network of law firms everywhere in the world.

We are specialists across the full range of Antitrust, Competition and Trade matters: we have expert sub-groups specialising in specific areas within the wider competition and trade field, e.g. for unfair competition and advertisement, including regulatory matters. We are also well-known as experts in various sectors of the economy. Our experience includes diverse industries such as aviation, telecommunications/media, banking, food industries, retail, construction, energy/oil & gas and life sciences to name but a few. As a result, our advice focuses on the needs of our clients' businesses and on supporting their strategic leadership.

Our clients range from many very large multinationals who frequently use our team as their law firm of choice for the entire region (e.g., in Latin America or Europe), to governments at all levels and a high number of medium-sized companies. We also advise Peruvian brand owners and leading market players, as well as local governmental entities. We represent them before the Peruvian Competition Authority (Instituto Nacional de Defensa de la Competencia y la Propiedad Intelectual – INDECOPI) as well as Peruvian courts. We have also participated in proceedings before INDECOPI, in which binding precedents have been established.

We cover every area of Antitrust, Competition and Trade law – internationally and in the Peruvian market:
