Data Protection

Spain

The EU’s new General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) represents the latest legal framework governing the processing of personal data within the block, embodying a significant reform of previous laws. Since 25 May 2018, the GDPR has considerably increased the risks shouldered by every company processing personal data through the introduction of key updates and a greater number of obligations. Against this backdrop, companies have been forced to implement fundamental changes in a bid to ensure they comply with the new requirements in their day-to-day commercial and business operations, not to mention their own internal procedures.

CMS Albiñana & Suárez de Lezo’s specialist Data Protection team is vastly experienced in advising all types of companies on personal data protection-related matters and, specifically, on how to fully adapt to the GDPR. If your company is underprepared, our experts can help you implement a compliance programme tailored to your needs.

In May 2017, with the aim of meeting our clients’ requirements and challenges head on, CMS merged with Olswang, a leader in the TMT and intellectual property sectors.
