The right to education, and the ensuing opportunity this gives to gain a foothold in the job market, should be a right which is available to everyone, and to an equal extent. However, the reality looks somewhat different for children and young people with a migrant background. That is why we, as an internationally active company, decided in 2014 to begin supporting a START stipend in Vienna.
The stipend program START supports dedicated young people from a migrant background on their way to passing the school leaving examination (in Austria the Matura). START was instigated in Austria in 2006 by the Crespo Foundation in Vienna: Today the foundation, together with their partners and sponsors, supports 39 stipends in Vienna. So far, 55 graduates have successfully passed their leaving exam and remain involved in the START alumni association
- Supporting a pupil from India with a 2 year stipend
- Taster days at the office for the scholarship holders
- A summer internship position for START program alumni who are studying law
- Professional workshop for school leavers interested in studying law
