Environmental law is evolving rapidly. Recently, new laws have been implemented – such as the Dutch General Provisions of Environmental Law (Wabo), Crisis and Recovery Act (Crisis- en Herstelwet) and Water Act (Waterwet) – and there have been important case-law developments regarding existing laws, including those in the field of air quality, soil decontamination and external safety. In addition, European developments have led to the amendment of waste disposal laws and the obligation to file environmental impact assessments, while legislative proposals regarding a wide range of environmental issues are already being debated or have been submitted to the Lower House of the Dutch Parliament.
Staying abreast of these developments is vital for those who deal with environmental law, such as agencies that grant and/or enforce permits, project developers and corporations. The Environmental Law News seminar will offer you just such an opportunity. On the morning of Tuesday, 20 September 2011, we will use practical examples to furnish you with an overview of the most significant and relevant environmental law developments.
