CMS DSB advises Holcim on land sale to Havenbedrijf Rotterdam

CMS DSB has advised Holcim Nederland B.V. on the sale of the Nieuwland industrial site on the Noord river near Alblasserdam to Havenbedrijf Rotterdam N.V.

The 15.5 hectare site is intended for the construction of the Container Transferium ("CT"), an inland waterway terminal for loading and unloading freight vehicles at the edge of the Rotterdam harbour area. The CT, which is an Urgent Randstad project, must promote the accessibility of the Rotterdam harbour and reduce fine particle emissions by transporting containers between the transferium and the container terminals in the Maasvlakte port and industrial site using inland waterway vessels rather than lorries.

Holcim Nederland B.V.'s legal counsel for the sale was CMS Derks Star Busmann, while DTZ Zadelhoff advised on the commercial aspects. CMS Derks Star Busmann's core team comprised Cees de Tombe and Isabelle Balvert, with attorneys and tax consultants from the Real Estate Practice Group providing support in specialised areas.
