CMS acts on major acquisition in the fishing industry

08/09/2016

CMS has assisted the shareholders of fish processing plant Seafood Parlevliet in the transaction by which fishing company Cornelis Vrolijk acquires a majority stake in Seafood Parlevliet. The transaction was approved by the Authority Consumer & Market this week.

The basis for Seafood Parlevliet was laid in 1860. Seafood Parlevliet is the market leader in the retail sector in the Netherlands in respect of the supply of packaged herring, mackerel and fried fish to wholesalers and caterers. It employs approximately 225 people. Cornelis Vrolijk dates back to 1880 and focuses on the fishing of herring and mackerel, but has through its subsidiary Jac. den Dulk & Sons also been active in fish processing. Including partnerships more than 1,500 people work at the company worldwide.

The CMS team consisted of Reinout Slot, Rogier de Vrey, Marcoline van der Dussen, Jurre Reus, Roderick Nieuwmeyer, Annemieke Hazelhoff, Aysegül Avci, Niels Koene and Kirsten van Vliet.
