CMS advises WIRSOL on acquisition of the largest solar park in the Netherlands

21/03/2016

CMS has advised WIRSOL on the acquisition of SunPort Delfzijl BV. SunPort Delfzijl is developing the largest solar park in the Netherlands, consisting of approximately 123 thousand solar panels on 30 hectares of land (about 65 football fields), with a total capacity of approximately 30 MWp. This park will be built in the South-Western corner of the Delfzijl port (Oosterhoorn) of Groningen Seaports and will make a major contribution to the availability of renewable energy for local companies.

Within the WIRCON Group, WIRSOL focuses on development, financing, construction and exploitation of solar parks and wind parks in different countries. The construction of SunPort Delfzijl is expected to begin this spring. It is intended to have the project connected to the electrical grid and to deliver the first solar energy before the end of the year.

The CMS team included Cecilia van der Weijden, Jacqueline Feld, Dominique van Voorst tot Voorst, Arnout Scholten, Hilde Haentjens, Erwin van Elst, Jan van Vulpen, Willie Ambergen, Michelle van Zanten, Mariëlle de Blok, Martijn van der Bie and Pauline Toet.
