Administrative Law

Law Firm in the Netherlands specialised in Administrative Law

Administrative law encompasses all decisions taken by the government, such as issuing permits and licences and enforcement decisions. These decisions affect both companies and private individuals, and that is why there are many rules and safeguards that government decisions have to comply with.

Companies and private individuals can lodge an objection against a decision if they feel it has not been correctly interpreted or applied. In addition, administrative law has many areas of overlap with other areas of law, such as environmental law. For example, large building projects may lead to damage or nuisance for people living nearby.

Furthermore, if you want to conclude agreements with the government, such as a contract of sale or a public-private partnership, you will come up against administrative law.

CMS advises companies, such as property developers, but also private individuals, in all aspects of administrative law. Government organizations we assist include municipalities, water boards and provincial authorities.
