CMS strengthens its energy and infrastructure projects practice

At the beginning of July, Łukasz Szatkowski will be joining CMS as a partner. With over 15 years of experience in transaction, projects and regulatory advice for international and Polish energy companies, he will be a noteworthy boost to the energy and infrastructure projects team. As the fifth partner in the energy and infrastructure team, together with Marcin Bejm, Piotr Ciołkowski, Iga Lis and Tomasz Minkiewicz, he will be responsible for the development of the offer, services and team advising clients in the energy sector.

Łukasz Szatkowski specializes in energy, civil and commercial law. For the last fifteen years he has been co-heading the energy and infrastructure practice at the Warsaw office of Weil, Gotshal & Manges. More recently, he has been supporting clients primarily in the field of transactions carried out both in the conventional and renewable energy segments. He worked on mergers and acquisitions concerning PGG, the LOTOS Group and other entities carried out by the ČEZ Group, PGE, PKN ORLEN, TAURON and international infrastructure funds as well as the recent acquisition of the DCT Container Terminal by PSA, PFR and IFM. He effectively combines his M&A experience with advise in the field of investor support in the development of energy projects, and advises on the construction of conventional power plants, power plants based on renewable sources, and exploration and extraction projects in the field of natural resources. Łukasz also specialises in the field of infrastructure project restructuring and the implementation of liquid fuel and gas projects.

Łukasz Szatkowski is recommended in the Chambers & Partners, Legal 500 and IFLR1000 international law rankings as one of the best specialists in Poland in the energy and natural resources category. He is a legal advisor and a graduate of the Faculty of Law and Administration at the University of Warsaw.
