CMS with a new regulatory team leader in the finance sector

CMS continues to strengthen its offer for the financial sector by enhancing its regulatory team within the banking and finance practice. Marek Trzos-Rastawiecki, legal counsel with almost 16 years’ experience in advising on regulatory matters in the financial sector, has just joined as the leader of the financial sector’s regulatory team.

Marek Trzos-Rastawiecki specialises in regulatory matters and matters related to concluding derivative transactions. Acting for international law firms for the last 15 years, he has been advising Polish and foreign banks in the scope of banking and investment regulations, transactions on derivative financial instruments and capital market law. He has implemented MiFID, MiFID 2 and EMIR regulations in banks and brokerage houses. His experience also includes advising investment funds. He previously worked for Dentons (since 2007) and in the years 2003-2007 he worked for Clifford Chance.

As CMS counsel, Marek Trzos-Rastawiecki will expand the regulatory advice offer within the banking and finance department managed by Michał Mężykowski. The team is currently made up of 22 lawyers specialising in financial market advice, and in particular in acquisition finance, corporate finance, real property market financing, export financing and project finance type financing. Furthermore, the team is experienced in bond issues, acquiring portfolios of receivables, restructuring matters and in regulatory aspects.
