Rui Machete joined CMS Rui Pena & Arnaut in 2015 and is dedicated mainly to Public Law and the Energy Sector, specialized in legal opinions.
He is currently Lecturer at the Catholic University, where he teaches Administrative Procedural Law.
In September 1975 he was appointed Secretary of State for Immigration, and in December of the same year, he takes office as Minister of Social Affairs.

He was responsible for the management of the CPE Legal Services from 1969 to 1976 and advisor to the Board of Directors of EDP until 2006.
