Katherine Winney is a consultant in the Corporate Team of CMS Dubai.  She advises on general corporate and commercial matters.

Katherine trained and qualified at CMS London  before moving to the UAE in 2015 where she assists with work on domestic and international M&A, hotels and leisure, private equity, joint ventures, franchise arrangements and distribution contracts, restructurings, employment law issues and disputes and general corporate advisory matters.

Katherine has particular expertise in the hotels and leisure sectors, advising on hotel investments, M&A, hotel management and associated agreements, franchise agreements and other related matters.

  • Corinthia Hotels Group on the hotel management agreement and technical services agreement for a 5* hotel in Dubai.  
  • Hotel Owner on an MOU, management agreement and technical services agreement for a new 3* hotel in Dubai.  
  • Limulus Limited, part of the Deerbrook Group,on the £150m acquisition of the Ace Hotel, Shoreditch, from Starwood Capital, including re-negotating the existing hotel management agreement.
  • LDC on a number of investments and exits, including the exit of the TwoFour group for £55m to ITV.
  • Various clients on employment matters within Dubai, including a drafting template employment contracts, termination letters and advising on a contentious dispute in relation to end of service gratuity payments.
  • Abu-Dhabi based branch of a global organisation on a supply agreement for the Abu Dhabi Medical Services Corps and the related corporate structuring and inter-group agreements required to service the supply agreement.
  • Various clients on company structures, distribution agreements, agency agreements and related corporate matters within Dubai.
