Mohammed is a Partner in our Infrastructure, Construction and Energy Disputes team based in Riyadh. He has extensive experience in disputes and regularly represents clients before the Saudi Arabian Courts, judicial tribunals and in arbitration. Mohammed advises clients on matters involving infrastructure and construction disputes and commercial disputes.

Mohammed acts for clients in arbitration proceedings including ICC and ad hoc arbitrations. He also frequently advises on construction contracts for major projects relating to the Saudi Government Tenders and Procurements Law.

He also acts as a foreign expert in Saudi Arabian law in a number of foreign proceedings including the Commercial Court in London.

Mohammed is a Saudi Arabian qualified lawyer with full rights of audience before the Saudi Arabian Courts. He is also recognised in both Chambers and Legal 500.

Relevant experience

  • Acted for a Korean contractor on the wrongful termination of a USD 590m EPC contract by a Saudi Arabian and American joint venture relating to an aluminium rolling plant in 
    Saudi Arabia.
  • Acted as sole counsel for a Korean contractor in a Banking Disputes Committee proceeding regarding the wrongful renewal of a USD 100m performance bond.
  • Acted for a Korean conglomerate on disputes with its Saudi Arabian partners relating to the financing of a USD 40m polysilicon plant in Jubail, Saudi Arabia.
  • Acted for a British major car manufacturer on a major bankruptcy proceeding against the local distributor in 
    Saudi Arabia.
  • Acted for a German-led joint venture on the USD2 billion redevelopment of Riyadh's Airport.
  • Acted for a Korean contractor in a Commercial Court proceeding brought by a Saudi Arabian subcontractor relating to a USD 8bn petrochemical complex in Rabigh, Saudi Arabia.
  • Acted for a Turkish contractor on the USD 2bn construction of two flagship railway stations in Makkah and Madinah.
  • Acted on behalf of an Italian contractor providing expert evidence for an ICC arbitration seated in Geneva regarding a joint venture dispute to do with the Riyadh Metro Project.
  • Acted in an ICC arbitration seated in Dubai defending claims brought by an American designer against a joint venture.
  • Acted as sole counsel in a Commercial Court proceeding in Dammam defending a vessel owner against claims arising from an oil rig accident.
