MMag. Oliver Stauber (38) recently joined the Corporate Transactions Team at the international law firm CMS in Vienna as an attorney-at-law. In addition to Corporate/M&A, he also specialises in tax and foundation law, as well as the advising of start-ups.
Born in Carinthia, Oliver Stauber completed his studies in social and economic sciences, as well as law, at the University of Graz. He started his consultancy career by working at various prestigious audit companies. He there gained valuable experience in the areas of tax consultancy and auditing (Deloitte), and rendered outstanding services as a strategic advisor at an international energy company, working on a project associated with Romania's accession to the EU (Capgemini, Romania). He also provided advice on financial and business projects (PwC), as well as in the transactions sector to national and international clients with regards to company acquisitions.
After seven years in the tax, auditing and business consultancy sector, Oliver Stauber joined the legal profession in 2011 and was registered with the bar in November 2014. After completing his training period at an international business law firm in Vienna, he began work at CMS in October 2015. Shortly thereafter he moved, as part of a one-year secondment, to the legal department of a client (Siemens) and there provided support, particularly in the areas of corporate law, M&A, contract and industrial law.
Oliver Stauber has now returned to CMS and is mainly working in the areas of Corporate/M&A, tax law and foundation law. Besides this, he also advises on compliance and D&O liability issues, where he also brings with him supplementary qualifications in Governance Excellence. Oliver Stauber furthermore specialises in advising start-ups.
In addition to his position as a member of supervisory bodies at various companies, Oliver Stauber was the co-publisher of the recent book "Philantrophie 2.0".
