Angelika is a Senior Associate at CMS Sofia and a member of our French desk. She has advised major clients in the Life Sciences sector on their day-to day business activities, various distributor agreements, reimbursement procedures; wholesale trade, import authorisation procedures; representation before the regulatory authorities, protection of market exclusivity, data protection, labelling, marketing and advertising, as well as on various other issues under Bulgarian law.

Angelika was seconded to the Bulgarian offices of a multinational pharmaceutical company where she worked on establishing their local subsidiary and the transfer of activities from their representative office. She has also been seconded to General Electric (GE) in Paris, where she has assisted primarily in setting up GE’s activity in Europe, handling day-to day commercial work.

  • Several multinational pharmaceutical clients on their day-to-day operations, including negotiation of agreements, competition and regulatory issues and GDPR.
  • Amgen, Johnson & Johnson and various other multinational Lifesciences companies on commercial arrangements, including advertising, interaction with HCPs, clinical trial and sponsorship agreements, attendance at medical congresses, presentations of new products, promotional events, etc.
  • A major pharmaceutical company on establishing its operations in 10 countries across CEE. CMS incorporated the legal entities, obtained all necessary local registrations and licences and helped to negotiate and put in place distribution agreements. We also assisted with putting employment contracts and internal data protection procedures in to place, and have subsequently assisted it in areas ranging from intellectual property to litigation.
  • Various companies in respect of due diligence and compliance audits, including coordinating the roll out of Global Compliance Programs across CEE.
  • A multinational pharmaceutical company on marketing a product in Bulgaria and its qualification as a food supplement or a (herbal) medicinal product under Bulgarian legislation.
  • A major international pharmaceutical company on data protection and marketing exclusivity of its' priority medicinal product; providing support in litigation against the Bulgarian Drug Agency for withdrawal of generic marketing authorisations infringing the data and marketing exclusivity of the client's product.

Angelika is a Senior Associate at CEE CEM, based in Sofia. She is one of our experienced lawyers in the commercial sector, specialising in TMC. She is also a member of the French desk and the CEE TMC leadership team.

Angelika has significant experience in advising TMC companies on cloud computing, software licensing, partnership agreements, hackathons and competitions, general commercial contracts, regulatory matters, day-to day business activities, data protection, as well as on various other issues under Bulgarian law.

Recently, Angelika was seconded to GE (General Electric) in Paris, France, where she was instrumental in setting up GE Digital’s activity in Europe, handling key negotiations, preparation of templates, IP, liability and warranty issues in light of software on premises and cloud solutions. She has also been on a secondment at the Bulgarian offices of a multinational company focused on employee pre-paid solutions, including e-money, where she worked on the implementation of their merger with a local competitor and the company’s day-to-day needs.

Angelika provides tailored training webinars to clients in the TMC sector, most recently to GE on the challenges of Artificial Intelligence, Deep Learning, Machine Learning and their practical implications. Topics were related to the practical approach towards AI and the ideas on how to face its fast growth, despite the lack of proper regulation. Discussions were also based on AI in manufacturing and the legal challenges, including data ownership, liability, warranty or IP.
