What will the law firm of the future look like?

A number of advisory fields will be eliminated as more IT solutions are being introduced into the market, making our consulting spectrum smaller. However, I also believe that the provision of legal advice will always remain a ‘people’s business’ because it depends on factors that cannot be mapped by an IT solution. Employment law, for example, is all about labour relations. I also doubt computers will be able to conduct negotiations in the foreseeable future.

What was the most interesting cross-border, cross-discipline project that you were involved in?

The restructuring of a group in several European countries was very exciting, yet incredibly demanding. The holding company set us the target of achieving a certain savings volume. We were then asked to discuss the savings potential and the necessary measures with the local management and HR people in the affected countries. Due to the various local managements’ conflicting interests and the different legal frameworks in the various countries, there were some fierce discussions.

In which CMS office (besides your own) would you like to work and why?

Barcelona. I believe my answer is self-explanatory…
