The luncheon conference will deal with the question of whether in the aftermath of the world economic crisis we are seeing a revival of protectionism in the major regions of the world which may entail new challenges for Swiss companies operating in these regions and competing with domestic players. The speakers will provide an overview on the current status and recent developments in the legal, regulatory and political environment in their respective countries. The focus will be on measures which are designed to protect national businesses and thus may have an adverse effect on foreign enterprises, such as the “Buy American”-Clause in the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 as well as other legislation introduced in various countries in favour of domestic industries.
Time:
11:30 am - 2:00 pm
