New Partner in CMS Colombia, Lorenzo Villegas-Carrasquilla

We are proud to announce the incorporation of Lorenzo Villegas-Carrasquilla as new Partner of CMS Rodríguez-Azuero. Lorenzo leads the Technology, Media & Communications (TMC) and Competition teams, and coheads the Dispute Resolution area of our Firm.

Lorenzo is highly ranked in the International Directory Chambers & Partners in the TMT area and is a highly recommended lawyer in Leaders League for the Intellectual Property and Data Protection areas. He has more than 18 years of experience working for important companies such as Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer in Paris and as Chairman and Commissioner of the Regulatory Telecommunications Commission in Colombia, and for more than 8 years he directed his independent law firm, Lorenzo Villegas Consultores, where he advised some of the most important players in different industry sectors.

The incorporation of Lorenzo joins a wave of changes and great news that have strengthened our Firm and its expansion. At the beginning of 2017, our Firm announced its integration with CMS, one of the ten most important global law firms in the world with more than 4,500 lawyers and presence in 42 countries, including Mexico, Colombia, Peru, Chile and Brazil in Latin America. CMS Latam was nominated in the shortlisting 2018 in Chambers & Partners as "Regional South America Practice of the Year".  

In November 2017, Jacques Simhon incorporated as new Partner in our Firm and inaugurated the Corporate Criminal Law area with his team. In 2017, we also promoted Carolina Arenas as Partner and head of the Dispute Resolution and Commercial Law areas in the Firm. In the first semester of 2018, Karl Mutter joined as Partner and inaugurated the Sanitary Regulation and Intellectual Property practices in our Firm with his team. Likewise, Natalia Guerrero joined as Partner for the Firm and leader of the Tax Law area.
