A Spanish major bank and Uniqlo conclude a long-term lease agreement for sales area in Tauentzienstraße in Berlin

30/09/2013

Berlin – A fund managed by a Spanish major bank and the Japanese fashion retailer Uniqlo have concluded a lease agreement for the duration of 15 years regarding a sales area in Berlin.

The fund as owner has been legally advised by CMS Hasche Sigle for many years, in fact by a team around the Real Estate & Public partner Dr. Andreas Otto. This team already advised the owner with respect to the purchase of the building in 2006. Also in relation to the negotiations of this lease agreement, the owner mandated CMS Hasche Sigle.

The leased premises in Tauentzienstraße 7B, 7C/corner Nürnberger Straße in Berlin have until now been operated by Nike as a flagship store. After rebuilding the premises, Uniqlo, as a strongly expanding international brand of Fast Retailing Company Ltd. from Hiroshima, is going to have its first store in Germany there. The lease agreement shall presumably begin in October 2013.
