Stuttgart – Berlin-based Bosch Software Innovations GmbH has developed a smartphone app that allows drivers of electric cars and plug-in hybrids from Mercedes-Benz and smart to find and use almost any Internet-enabled charging station, regardless of provider. Users can also pay using their smartphone. Corresponding cooperation agreements have been signed between various e-mobility players.
A team from CMS Germany headed by lead partner Dr Christian Haellmigk advised Bosch Software Innovations GmbH on implementing the project. This included an evaluation of the project in terms of energy and tax law, in particular with regard to obligations arising from the Energy Industry Act and Electricity Tax Act and adaptation of the agreements concluded between the partners. The app has been available in Germany since December 2014, with other European countries scheduled to follow.
