Munich – AFINUM Achte Beteiligungsgesellschaft mbH & Co. KG has invested in Ventomaxx GmbH, a manufacturer of decentralised ventilation systems, in a proprietary transaction. AFINUM’s investment is intended to drive further expansion of the business model both within Germany and internationally. Details of the stake have not been disclosed. The investment in Ventomaxx is the third transaction conducted by AFINUM Achte Beteiligungsgesellschaft mbH & Co. KG.
Dr Hermann Rock, General Counsel at AFINUM, acted as the main advisor on acquiring the stake. A CMS team headed by lead partner Dr Oliver Thurn advised AFINUM on the legal aspects of the investment in a supporting role. The private equity investor has repeatedly tapped the expertise of the Munich CMS office. Recently, for example, the team headed by Dr Oliver Thurn advised AFINUM Achte Beteiligungsgesellschaft mbH & Co. KG on its investment in the Zeit für Brot Group. The CMS team also advised on the recent acquisition of ChainMaster Bühnentechnik GmbH on behalf of LIFTKET Hoffmann GmbH, a portfolio company held by AFINUM Siebte Beteiligungsgesellschaft mbH & Co. KG.
Based in the Bavarian town of Landshut, Ventomaxx is a manufacturer of mainly decentralised ventilation systems. Modular design and flexible deployment options make Ventomaxx the preferred partner for architects and technical planners, especially in large projects requiring tailored solutions. Following the investment by AFINUM, the joint growth strategy will involve extending the Ventomaxx organisation within Germany and internationally, as well as pursuing inorganic growth through acquisitions AFINUM is an independent management-owned private equity firm with offices in Munich, Zurich, Vienna and Hong Kong. It specialises in taking stakes in successful mid-market companies in the German-speaking region of Europe.
