CMS advises Altair on acquisition of plastics technology company M-Base

Stuttgart – Altair Engineering Inc., a Nasdaq-listed global technology company providing solutions in data analytics, simulation, and high-performance computing (HPC), has acquired M-Base Engineering + Software GmbH. The acquisition of this international supplier of material database and material information systems with a focus on plastics will allow Altair to create a comprehensive, high-fidelity plastics database. Details of the transaction were not disclosed.

A CMS team headed by lead partner John Hammond advised Altair on all legal aspects of the transaction. Altair regularly relies on CMS’s expertise, including during the recent acquisition of Ellexus Limited.

Altair, which is based in Troy (Michigan), is a global technology company that provides software and cloud solutions in the areas of data analytics, simulation and HPC.

M-Base Engineering + Software GmbH, which is headquartered in Aachen, Germany, is a world-leading provider of material databases, material information systems, product information systems and material-related simulation software.
