CMS advises Berlin-based SME private equity fund Flex Capital on first investment in QR code specialist Egoditor

Berlin – Flex Capital, a private equity fund launched by a number of investors and founders from the German start-up scene, has acquired a majority stake in Bielefeld-based QR code specialist Egoditor GmbH. The EUR 120 million fund focuses on SMEs. The founders of Egoditor will remain in management roles.

The Berlin-based CMS Germany technology team headed by lead partner Dr Jörg Zätzsch advised Flex Capital on all legal aspects of this first investment by the fund. CMS previously supported fund co-initiator Christoph Jost around the successful sale of young academics’ job portal Absolventa to the digital division of the Essen-based Funke media group.

Flex Capital was set up by a number of successful investors and founders from the German start-up scene. Since fund closing in December 2019, the fund’s management has been looking for profitable high-growth SMEs in the SaaS sector.

Egoditor GmbH was established in Bielefeld in 2009. It offers two software solutions for creating QR codes that can be used to create and control customised QR code marketing campaigns.
