CMS advises ElringKlinger on sale of stake in new enerday

Stuttgart – ElringKlinger AG has sold its shareholding in new enerday GmbH to Dresden-based Sunfire GmbH. new enerday specialises in high-temperature SOFC (Solid Oxide Fuel Cell) technology. The parties agreed not to disclose the purchase price.

A CMS team headed by lead partner Dr Christoph Lächler advised ElringKlinger on all legal and tax aspects of the transaction.

ElringKlinger is an internationally leading automotive supplier headquartered in Dettingen an der Erms, Baden-Württemberg. It has 45 locations worldwide and employs more than 10,000 people. Selling its stake in new enerday GmbH will enable the automotive supplier to focus on the low-temperature PEMFC (Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cell) technology that is important for mobile applications, with the aim of enhancing its strategic positioning in the electromobility space.
