CMS advises Finexx on acquisition of BIOVEGAN

Stuttgart – Private equity firm Finexx has closed its second fund, Finexx Fonds II, and acquired a 100% stake in BIOVEGAN GmbH, a supplier of organic vegan baking and cooking ingredients. The investment by Finexx is aimed at ensuring successful company succession in the long term. Details of the transaction were not disclosed.

A CMS team headed by lead principal counsel Sabina Krispenz and partner Dr Claus-Peter Fabian advised Finexx on all legal aspects of the acquisition. Finexx is a longstanding client and regularly relies on the expertise of the proven Corporate/M&A and Finance team at CMS.

Stuttgart-based Finexx GmbH Unternehmensbeteiligungen was founded in 2013 as a private equity firm specialising in established SMEs. Typical activities include growth investment and acquisition financing, as well as supporting changes in the shareholder structure and succession planning. In particular, Finexx has long experience in the management and strategic development of companies in the food industry and the organic products sector. It has special industry expertise around distribution and exports.

Based in Bonefeld (Rhineland-Palatinate), BIOVEGAN specialises in the development, production and distribution of organic, vegan and gluten-free baking and cooking ingredients. The company describes itself as a recognised market-leading innovator and trendsetter in its segment. BIOVEGAN’s portfolio comprises two brands offering a total of around 90 different products. Its customers include health food retailers as well as health and beauty chains.
