CMS advises IT group Bechtle on acquisition of software developer dataformers

Stuttgart – Bechtle AG has acquired dataformers GmbH, a software developer based in Linz (Austria). This is the one hundredth acquisition by the IT group since it was founded. In taking this step, Bechtle is expanding its system integrator business in Austria and adding another software specialist to its portfolio. The transaction is currently awaiting approval from the competition authorities. The parties agreed not to disclose details.

An international CMS team headed by lead partner Dr Tobias Schneider provided Bechtle AG with legal advice on the deal. CMS regularly advises Bechtle.

Neckarsulm-based Bechtle AG operates 75 IT system integrator businesses in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. With 24 e-commerce companies in 14 countries, the group is one of Europe’s leading IT resellers. Established in 1983, Bechtle currently has more than 12,000 employees and is listed on the MDAX and TecDAX. The company posted sales of around EUR 5.37 billion in 2019.

dataformers GmbH specialises in software development and IoT solutions. It is headquartered in Linz (Austria) and has additional locations in Vienna and Eisenstadt. Formed in 2009, the company currently employs 55 people, including 35 software developers. The company generated sales of some EUR 5.5 million in 2019.
