CMS advises Lloyds TSB Development Capital on Easynet acquisition

Hamburg/Munich – The CMS organisation of law firms has advised Lloyds TSB Development Capital (LDC), the private equity arm of Lloyds Banking Group, on its GBP 100m acquisition of Easynet, the global provider of managed solutions and business connectivity services, from British Sky Broadcasting Group plc ("BSkyB").

Led from London, by CMS Corporate partner James Grimwood, the high-profile deal required CMS local expertise in Corporate, Competition, TMT, Banking & Finance and Tax, with input from lawyers and tax advisers in Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Spain, Switzerland and the UK.

Founded in 1994, Easynet has been a leader in highly sophisticated managed networks and hosting. Since it joined BSkyB in 2006, it has grown by over 40 per cent. Easynet services over 5,000 corporate customers, with owned operations in the UK, Belgium, the Netherlands, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, India, China and the US, and capabilities in around 190 countries.
