CMS advises software company Signavio on investment by lead investor Apax Digital and others

Berlin – Signavio has gained new investors. Apax Digital, as the new lead investor, and venture capital fund DTCP are investing in the Berlin-based software firm in a deal worth USD 177 million. The existing investor, Summit Partners, will continue to hold an equity interest in the company. Signavio intends to use the funding for international expansion and further development of its innovative product range. The transaction is currently awaiting regulatory approval.

A CMS team headed by lead partner Dr Jörg Zätzsch advised Signavio and its founders on all legal aspects of the transaction.

Berlin-based Signavio is a global software provider. Its Business Transformation Suite helps more than 1,300 companies worldwide to effectively analyse, model, monitor, manage and maintain their business processes. Signavio also has branches in the US, the UK, France, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Singapore and Australia.

The Apax Digital Fund belongs to private equity investor Apax Partners. It specialises in growth capital and buyout investments in high-growth companies worldwide engaged in enterprise software, the consumer Internet and tech-enabled services.

DTCP is an investment management group. It manages assets of around USD 1.7 billion on behalf of Deutsche Telekom as well as other companies and institutional investors. DTCP has a portfolio of over 60 companies. The group specialises in providing venture and growth capital, private equity investment and advisory services to the technology, media and telecommunications sectors.

Summit Partners is a global alternative investment company. It manages more than USD 19 billion in capital used for funding growth, fixed income and public equity opportunities. Summit focuses on growth sectors of the economy and has invested in more than 500 companies in the technology, healthcare and other growth industries.
