Stuttgart – TRUMPF has reached an agreement with the current shareholders on the complete acquisition of EHT Werkzeugmaschinen GmbH, a mechanical engineering company based in the South Baden town of Teningen. A purchase agreement to this effect was concluded at the end of 2014 and has since completed following the approval of the competition authorities.
An international CMS team headed by lead partner Dr Tobias Schneider advised TRUMPF on all aspects of the transaction. The timeframe from kick-off to certification of the contracts was extremely short. A particular challenge faced by the team, in addition to resolving employment law issues, involved the link between the sale of EHT Werkzeugmaschinen GmbH and various land law-related matters at the site in Teningen.
TRUMPF is a world-leading high-tech company manufacturing machine tools as well as laser and electronic products for industrial applications. TRUMPF products are used in the manufacture of various goods, in the automotive industry and in building systems, in mobile devices and in energy and data storage technology. In the 2013/14 financial year, the company generated sales of almost EUR 2.6 billion with around 11,000 employees.
EHT Werkzeugmaschinen GmbH has a history spanning more than 240 years, making it one of the oldest companies in Germany. It produces bending machines, press brakes and guillotine shears which are in use worldwide.
