CMS advises US industrial group Dover Corporation on the acquisition of the North Rhine-Westphalian automation system provider XanTec

Frankfurt/Main – The US-American Dover Corporation has acquired the German XanTec Steuerungs- und EDV-Technik GmbH, a developer and supplier of automation and control solutions for polymer processing plants. XanTec becomes part of the Maag Group, a global supplier of integrated and adaptable process engineering solutions for the polymer, chemical, petrochemical, pharmaceutical and food industries within the Dover Group. The parties involved have agreed not to disclose any details.

A CMS team headed by Lead Partner Dr Hendrik Hirsch provided comprehensive legal advice to Dover Corporation on the acquisition of XanTec.

Dover Corporation is a diversified manufacturer and supplier of innovative equipment and components, consumables, aftermarket parts, software and digital solutions and support services in five operating segments. These include engineering products, refuelling solutions, imaging, identification, pumps and process solutions, and refrigeration and food processing equipment. Founded in 1955, the company now has over 23,000 employees and annual sales of approximately $7 billion. Dover, based in Downers Grove, Illinois, is traded on the New York Stock Exchange.

XanTec implements automation solutions for production plants worldwide with the help of state-of-the-art project planning, programming and manufacturing. Today, the company acts as a system provider, which is able to offer its customers worldwide complete automation solutions from a single source, from individual plant planning to state-of-the-art qualification. The services offered by XanTec also include start-up assistance, technical monitoring of systems, preventive maintenance as well as remote access and remote diagnosis of systems.
