The CMS alliance celebrated five years in Shanghai with a reception for over 150 guests. The
reception was attended by the German general consul Dr Albrecht von der Heyden, Mr Li Jibin of the
Shanghai Bureau of Justice and Mr Zhang Rui from the Shanghai Foreign Investment Commission. The
chairman of the CMS alliance Pierre Sébastian Thill underlined the achievements made possible by
the law firms' cooperation over the past five years.
Dr Ulrike Glück, who heads the Shanghai representative office of CMS Hasche Sigle, called it
"an ideal opportunity for a celebration". She went on to say "over the past few years the
office has developed extremely fast. In the spring we moved into bigger offices to accommodate our
constantly growing staff."
The engagement of the CMS alliance, which has offices in Shanghai and Beijing, goes back more
than 15 years. With 27 lawyers the Shanghai CMS office ranks among the largest associations of
European law-firms in China. It includes lawyers from CMS Hasche Sigle, CMS Bureau Francis Lefebvre
and CMS Cameron McKenna. The office's activities focus on advice on transactions and investments
throughout China and advice to Chinese companies on investment abroad. CMS Hasche Sigle recently
handled the IPO of the Chinese company ZhongDe Waste Technology in Frankfurt, which was watched
with interest by international observers. More German IPOs of Chinese companies are in the
pipeline.
