CMS advises real estate investor Peach Property Group on acquisition of portfolio of 4,800 apartments

Cologne – Peach Property Group AG, an investor specialising in holding residential real estate in Germany, has acquired a portfolio comprising around 4,800 apartments in Germany. This boosts the company’s portfolio by 26% to more than 23,000 residential units. The transaction is expected to complete by the end of 2020. The parties agreed not to disclose the purchase price.

A CMS team headed by lead partner Heinz Joachim Kummer and co-lead partner Dr Malte Bruhns advised the Peach Property Group on all legal aspects of the transaction.

The acquired portfolio comprises 295,000 square metres of living space in total. Some 44% of the properties are located in the prosperous triangle between Wolfsburg, Braunschweig and Magdeburg. Around 35% of the apartments are in North Rhine-Westphalia and complement the existing portfolio. A third key focus is the industrial location of Ludwigshafen in Rhineland-Palatinate.

The Peach Property Group, which is based in Zurich and has its German headquarters in Cologne, is a real estate investor and developer with an investment focus on Germany. The company’s activities cover the entire value chain from location evaluation, acquisition and active asset management to the sale or letting of the properties. The portfolio consists of existing high-yield properties, typically in secondary locations within the catchment area of major conurbations. The Group also develops real estate for its own portfolio or for marketing as condominiums. In the latter category, the focus is on prime locations and properties with attractive architecture and upmarket specifications that will appeal to an international clientele. Peach Property Group AG is listed on the SIX Swiss Exchange.
