CMS Germany appoints eleven new partners at start of new year

05/01/2022

Berlin – Commercial law firm CMS Germany has appointed eleven new partners as of the start of 2022. These appointments strengthen the partnership in the Corporate/M&A, Employment, Real Estate & Public, Intellectual Property, TMC, Tax and Dispute Resolution practice areas.

“I’m delighted that we have been able to appoint such a large number of exceptionally well-qualified partners. They are all notable for technical excellence, have the right entrepreneurial mindset and will thus make a major contribution to the firm’s ongoing success,” said Dr Hubertus Kolster, Managing Partner of CMS Germany.

The appointment of the new partners sees CMS once again focusing on promoting outstanding talent from within the firm and also again increasing the number of new female partners. “The new appointees include five female partners, representing another step towards greater diversity. That is very good for the firm and something I find particularly gratifying. We firmly believe that diverse teams are essential for our success,” added Kolster.

Meanwhile, CMS took first place in the most recent “Kanzleimonitor” survey for the eighth year in a row, underlining its continued success. The survey is based on an annual poll of heads of corporate legal departments by the German Institute for Legal Departments and Corporate Lawyers (diruj). CMS is the top-ranked firm, with recommendations in 31 out of 32 areas of law, further extending its lead compared to the previous year. In addition to being valued for the breadth of its services, CMS also received the highest total number of recommendations.

“This accolade and the trust it implies are confirmation of the success of CMS’s strategy of strong engagement with emerging issues such as sustainability, new ways of working and digital transformation. We are able to offer our clients relevant, cutting-edge advice and thus contribute to their business success,” Dr Hubertus Kolster concluded.
