Cologne – US-based Carrier Corporation has sold its worldwide air-conditioning business for buses (Sutrak) to automotive supplier Eberspächer of Stuttgart, Germany.
A team from CMS Hasche Sigle led by Klaus Jäger and Dr Malte Bruhns advised Carrier Corporation on all aspects of the transaction.
The package includes production plants in Germany and Spain, a number of sales and service offices in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and India, as well as sales subsidiaries in Mexico and India. The purchase price was not disclosed.
Carrier, a subsidiary of United Technologies Corporation (UTC), is the world market leader in the development of cooling and air-conditioning systems. It has around 42,000 employees and annual sales of more than EUR 9 billion.
With more than 5,500 employees in 19 countries and annual sales in excess of EUR 2.2 billion, Eberspächer is one of the world's leading systems developers and suppliers of exhaust technology and vehicle heaters. The company’s operations also include automotive electronics and automotive bus systems.
