CMS Hasche Sigle advises ConocoPhillips on their acquisition of Wilhelmshaven Refinery

30/11/2005

The US-American oil company ConocoPhillips of Houston has signed an agreement with the British company Louis Dreyfus Energy Holdings Ltd. concerning the acquisition of the Wilhelmshaven refinery. The transaction will be completed in the first half of 2006. In addition to the refinery, the acquisition encompasses further installations and the British Louis Dreyfus Refining & Marketing Ltd. A team of CMS attorneys under the leadership of Hamburg partner Dr Christian von Lenthe advised ConocoPhillips in the transaction. Details of the purchase price were not disclosed.

With the acquisition of the facilities in Wilhelmshaven, which produce 275,000 barrels per day, ConocoPhillips increases its European refinery capacities by roughly 74% to 647,000 barrels per day.
