CMS Hasche Sigle advises ECM on the sale of eismann group

11/04/2007

ECM Equity Capital Management (ECM) and Parcom Ventures B.V. have sold eismann. ECM was advised on this transaction by CMS Hasche Sigle headed by Frankfurt partner Dr Martin Bell and Dr Oliver Wolfgramm. Several other offices in the international CMS Alliance were also involved as eismann sells products in a number of European countries.

The management, led by Dr Frank Hoefer, is the new majority shareholder of this provider of frozen goods.
The British holding company Intermediate Capital Group plc is a further shareholder. The agreement is still subject to clearance by the cartel authorities. The parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price or other details of the transaction.

Funds advised by ECM, Parcom and the management acquired eismann in 2004 from the Nestlé group and assisted the company in recent years on its way to corporate independence. The company founded in 1974 which has its base in Mettmann (North Rhine Westphalia) has undergone further development since the management buy-out. Today eismann supplies more than 2 million customers, 1.1 million of whom are in Germany. Last year it had a consolidated turnover of 494 million euro, 241 million of which was generated on the German market. eismann has a market share of approx. 25% which makes it the second largest - after Bofrost - provider of home delivery frozen products. Today the company has 4,700 employees across Europe. Eismann has approx. 1,400 independent sales personnel and 800 employees in Germany.
