CMS Hasche Sigle advises ETL Energietechnik Leipzig on sale of project to build eight wind power plants

30/07/2009

Leipzig – ETL Energietechnik Leipzig GmbH has sold a wind farm project in Kittlitz, Germany (Oberlausitz), to WKN Windkraft Nord AG. The project comprises eight wind power plants and involves an investment of more than EUR 30 million.

A team from CMS Hasche Sigle led by Eckhart Braun advised ETL on all aspects of the development project and transaction.

In 2006, ETL sold a wind farm project in Kittlitz comprising five wind power plants to WKN. A year later, WKN transferred the wind farm to Allianz Specialised Investments, part of the Allianz Group. The eight new wind power plants are an extension to this existing wind farm. Building work is scheduled to start this year and be completed by the end of 2009. Approval for the plant under the German Emission Control Act (BImSchG) is expected shortly.

Established in 1990 in Leipzig, ETL Energietechnik Leipzig GmbH is wholly owned by the employees and specialises in developing wind power projects. The company offers technical and business consultancy and overall technical planning in the field of energy production, distribution and utilisation, as well as thermal waste disposal.

WKN Windkraft Nord AG is one of the leading developers of wind farm projects in Europe. Founded in 1990 in Husum, it specialises in turnkey development and construction. The company’s service portfolio includes location evaluation and development, planning and financing, construction and operation through to commercial and technical management.
