Funkwerk AG is taking over the Information Technologies Business Division from Vossloh, the
transport technology group. The transaction is still subject to approval from the supervisory board
of Vossloh AG and clearance from the Federal Cartel Office A team from CMS Hasche Sigle led by
Eckhart Braun, partner in Leipzig, advised Funkwerk AG during the transaction.
Funkwerk AG domiciled in Kölleda near Erfurt develops and produces professional
communications systems for vehicles, transport businesses and companies. The acquisition of VIT by
the Thuringian technology group principally constitutes a reinforcement of its market position in
the business of information technology for rail transport.
The VIT divisions, Customer Information Systems, Planning and Simulation, Operations Control
Systems and Signalling Technology extend and supplement the services offered by Funkwerk. Funkwerk
will integrate VIT in the Traffic & Control Communication Division thereby pushing ahead with
the internationalisation of the business.
