CMS Hasche Sigle advises Gruner + Jahr on sale of "impulse" and "Börse Online"

17/01/2013

Hamburg – Hamburg-based publishing house Gruner + Jahr AG & Co KG has completed the sale process for its two business magazines "impulse" and "Börse Online”. The current editor-in-chief, Dr Nikolaus Förster, has acquired "impulse" as part of a management buy-out by way of his newly established company, Impulse Medien GmbH. The magazine was established in 1980 and is targeted at entrepreneurs. Hamburg businessman Dirk Möhrle will take a minority stake in Impulse Medien GmbH. Investor magazine "Börse Online" will pass with certain assets to Munich-based FV Börsen Verlag GmbH with effect from 18 January 2013. The latter is a wholly-owned subsidiary of publisher Finanzen Verlag, whose portfolio already includes "Euro", "Euro am Sonntag" and "Artinvestor". Commercial law firm CMS Hasche Sigle advised Gruner + Jahr on legal aspects of both sales via teams led by partner Dr Henrik Drinkuth.

"impulse" is positioned as an independent magazine for SMEs with topics such as strategy and management, day-to-day business, taxation and law. The "impulse Wissen" supplement is published four times a year in conjunction with universities and delivers key findings from research into management, innovation and entrepreneurship. "Börse Online" has been providing weekly information since 1987 about the main forms of investment, from A as in "ABS" to Z as in "zero-coupon bonds". It has a multimedia presence through its website, newsletters, supplements, books, trade shows, investor forums, mobile products, an investor protection portal and discussion feeds in social networks.
