CMS Hasche Sigle advises HelveticWind on acquisition of wind farm in Brandenburg

19/07/2011

Stuttgart – HelveticWind GmbH has acquired the Lüderstorf-Parstein wind farm in the Federal State of Brandenburg from Lower Saxony company Ventotec GmbH. A team from CMS Hasche Sigle led by partner Dr Jochen Lamb advised HelveticWind, a joint venture between BKW FMB Energie AG (BKW) and Energie Wasser Bern (ewb), on all aspects of the transaction right from the start.

The wind farm has an installed capacity of 22.5 MW and has been connected to the grid since the end of 2004. Its 15 turbines produce some 53 gigawatt hours (GWh) of CO2-free electricity, corresponding to the annual power consumption of just over 14,000 households. The acquisition of the wind farm brings the Swiss joint venture one step closer to its objective of building a wind power portfolio totalling more than 100 MW output over the next few years.

Last year, CMS Hasche Sigle advised shareholder BKW when it acquired the Dubener Platte wind farm in Luckau/Brandenburg.
